Welcome to Hot Rock

Hot Rock climbing Africa - welcome to paradise

Hot Rock chillin' in zanzibar

Take a Big Red specially converted rock climbing expedition vehicle.

Add 20-25 climbers from all over the world.

Head off overland around the globe.

Stop at the best established climbing areas in Africa, South America or Asia

Develop new crags as we pass

And be part of local cultures everywhere we go.

That's Hot Rock. And if this sounds like the best adventure in the world - read on...

Other than existing guidebooks and our own bulging new routes book, we use rock climbing contacts and other local knowledge wherever we go to find and develop the very best crags.

Your grade is less important than your attitude. Are you up for adventurous, unguided climbing and exploring, across the remotest corners of the globe?

On past trips we've put up new routes from Diff to E6, and (according to local ethics) bolted from f5a to f8a. Routes range from single pitch to 1800m big walls.

We've found lost prison mountains and discovered the DWS potential of lakes and cliffs around the globe.

Take a tour round the Hot Rock site to read climbing stories and see climbing photos from over 50 countries... And you can join either of our upcoming South America expeditions too.

African rock climbing: the big red truck in Namibia

BIRT bushcamping under the Spitzkoppe

beasting ourselves in South Africa

Cragging in Brazil, just south of the Amazon

I believe that Hot Rock is simply the best remote and exploratory rock climbing expedition available - anywhere. Have a look and see for yourself.

Happy climbs!

ps - if you like what you see here, whether or not you decide to join us please email this site to your friends and rock climbing partners. It's the cheapest way to promote Hot Rock, and keeps prices down for everyone.

The next expedition is in South America:
Jan -Aug 2012
