Hot Rock: The arc of asia rock climbing expedition

Our trans-asian route plan from Madras to Singapore

Possibly the greatest rock climbing road trip ever undertaken?

Through 2009 the Hot Rock truck will encircle the Indian Ocean.

We will spend 9 months travelling from India to Singapore, via the entire Himalayan chain.

In this journey, we'll travel and climb throughout India, Pakistan, Tibet, China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia.

Join us?

We’ll boulder at Hampi, explore 7000m peaks in China, go big walling in Pakistan and deep water soloing in Vietnam. We’ll clip bolts on the beach in Thailand and in view of the Potola temple in Lhasa. We will climb the best existing trad and put up new routes on cliffs throughout Asia.

We’ll make the pilgrimage round Mount Kailas, drive the world’s highest roads, develop new crags in Ladakh and visit Everest base camp. We'll find and develop Eric Shipton's long lost Arch.

When not climbing we’ll spot pandas and terracotta warriors, chill out on beaches from Kerala to Krabi, haggle in markets and make friends with people wherever we travel.

You could join Hot Rock on the Big Red Truck for a 9 month climbing and mountaineering odyssey, from May 2009.
