Put up new routes throughout the grades on perfect untouched rock? Test yourself on some of the world's biggest walls? Climb ice above the source of the Nile or desert rock in Wadi Rum? or just take some time out to see the mesmerising places and fascinating people in this awesome part of the world. Africa is one of the world's greatest cultural melting pots. A land of deserts and rainforests; beaches, glaciers and savannahs. A land of penguins and elephants, big cats and big rock. A truly ancient continent, home of the world's earliest known humans, Africa offers the warmest of welcomes whether we're visiting the bedouin or maasai, xhosa, bushmen or samburu. One of Hot Rock's favorite continents, The Big Red Truck will take us from the infamous Cape of Good Hope at the southern tip of Africa all the way through the Middle East to the endless climbing of Turkey and incredible hustle and bustle of Istanbul, its cosmopolitan capital. Stages start from as little as 3 weeks and £380.From Table mountain to Mount Kenya, Namibia's Spitzkoppe to Wehni, Ethiopia's hidden prison mountain, and from the big walls of Mt Mulanje to the endless boulder fields of Tanzania, the Big Red truck will visit the very best climbing to be found throughout South and East Africa. Heading further north, we'll traverse the Sahara desert, explore the limitless rock of Egypt and Wadi Rum, befriend bedouin nomads throughout the middle east, and marvel at ancient civilisations from Petra to the Pyramids - before clipping bolts and putting new routes up big walls in the vertical wonderland of Turkey. We aim to climb at least one day in 3, with at least one in 3 devoted to sightseeing and chilling out with the locals, and the remainder travelling from crag to crag and city to city.
