Mozambique, 20 April 2007: Ouch!

by Lianna

Birt loves trees. Trees give us shelter from the heat. Tying tarpaulins from Birt to trees gives us shelter from the rain. Dead trees give us firewood. And Birt is at her photogenic best posing in front of an African sunset alongside a Baobab or two. Yes, Birt loves trees.

But as with any healthy relationship, just occasionally there's a tiff. And recently we had a full blown row. Happily there was no lasting damage, and we're putting the relationship right. Here's the photo diary:

Ouch!

That hurt!

What happened to Birt's good tree karma?
That doesn't belong there!
Just what the doctor ordered
Plus a bit of labour...
Now for the medicine. You're not supposed to like medicine, but it's good for you.

Check out that beauty!

Birt gets a new cab

Meanwhile, we get a new truck.

Introducing: MaBeL-Henrietta (medium beige lorry and our absent driver)... aka the Milkfloat

(I'm always suspicious of double barelled names for trucks but fair play to her, we've shown her a whole new way of overlanding and she's coped very well for 3 weeks... and 10 minutes before writing this we were reunited with new Birt!)

New Birt, finally back!
